OBITUARY

Marie A. Bakos, 100, a 64 year resident of Richeyville, PA died Friday February 14, 2014 in Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington, PA.
She was born January 16, 1914 in Daisytown, PA a daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Murcik Hartel.
Mrs. Bakos was a lifelong member of the St. Agnes R.C.Church, Richeyville and was a member of the St. Anne DeBeaupre Crt. 1909 of the Catholic Daughters of America.
For many years, she was employed by the Rosefield Food Center, Richeyville in their Produce Department.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, baking, crocheting and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
On May 20, 1946 she married Paul Bakos, Sr., who died October 17, 1981.
Surviving are three children – Paul Bakos (Kay) and Mary Ann Bakos, both of Richeyville, Kathryn Emswiler (Gregory L.) of Charlestown, WV; Three grandchildren – Regina Kastelic (Robert), Gregory P. Emswiler and Steven Emswiler; one great granddaughter – Katie Kastelic; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are three brothers – Louis, Thomas and Adam Hartel; one sister – Anna Boka.

Friends are asked to gather at 10:00 AM Wednesday February 19, 2014 in the St. Agnes R.C. Church, Richeyville, PA at for a Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Edward Yuhas as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery, Beallsville, PA. The family suggest Memorial Contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001 or at alzfdn.org.Or a charity of ones choice. John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St. Beallsville is in charge of arrangements.
